Nar-Dos (born Mikael Hovhannisyan) was one of the most talented prose writers of classical Armenian literature and a major representative of psychological realism. Born in Tiflis, where he carried out his literary career, his works focused on the tragic fates of ordinary people, the moral challenges of urban life, and deep psychological analysis. Through famous works such as the novellas Anna Saroyan and The Killed Dove, and the novel Death, he masterfully exposed the conflict between the individual and an unjust society. Today, Nar-Dos’s literary legacy remains one of the irreplaceable treasures of Armenian classical prose.
Նար-Դոսը, իսկական անունով Միքայել Հովհաննիսյան, հայ դասական գրականության ամենատաղանդավոր արձակագիրներից է և հոգեբանական ռեալիզմի խոշոր ներկայացուցիչը։ Ծնվել է Թիֆլիսում, որտեղ և ծավալել է իր գրական գործունեությունը։ Նրա ստեղծագործությունների կենտրոնում հասարակ մարդկանց ողբերգական ճակատագրերն են, քաղաքային կյանքի բարոյական խնդիրներն ու մարդկային հոգու խորը վերլուծությունը։ «Աննա Սարոյան», «Սպանված աղավնին» վիպակների և «Մահը» վեպի միջոցով գրողը վարպետորեն բացահայտել է անհատի և անարդար միջավայրի բախումը։ Նար-Դոսի գրական ժառանգությունը մինչ օրս համարվում է հայ արձակի անկրկնելի արժեքներից մեկը։
