Garegin Nzhdeh (Garegin Ter-Harutyunyan, 1886-1955) was a prominent Armenian military and political figure, commander, and philosopher who played a pivotal role in the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia and the history of the national liberation struggle. One of his greatest historical achievements was leading the self-defense of Syunik (1919-1921), which successfully kept the region within the borders of Armenia. Nzhdeh was also the founder of “Tseghakronutyun,” a national-patriotic ideology aimed at elevating Armenian self-awareness and martial spirit. He spent his final years in Soviet prisons, yet his ideological and literary heritage remains one of the pillars of Armenian national identity and state-building to this day.
Գարեգին Նժդեհը (Գարեգին Տեր-Հարությունյան, 1886-1955) հայ ականավոր ռազմաքաղաքական գործիչ, հրամանատար և փիլիսոփա է, ով առանցքային դեր է խաղացել Հայաստանի Առաջին Հանրապետության կայացման և ազգային-ազատագրական պայքարի պատմության մեջ: Նրա ամենամեծ պատմական ձեռքբերումներից է Սյունիքի ինքնապաշտպանության ղեկավարումը (1919-1921 թթ.), ինչի շնորհիվ երկրամասը մնաց Հայաստանի կազմում: Նժդեհը նաև «Ցեղակրոնություն» ազգային-հայրենասիրական գաղափարախոսության հիմնադիրն է, որը կոչված էր բարձրացնելու հայության ինքնագիտակցությունն ու մարտունակությունը: Կյանքի վերջին տարիներն անցկացրել է խորհրդային բանտերում, սակայն նրա գաղափարական ու գրական ժառանգությունը մինչ օրս մնում է հայ ազգային ինքնության և պետականաշինության հիմնասյուներից մեկը:
