Christian Batikian (born in Istanbul, Turkey) is a talented French-Armenian prose writer, translator, and editor who creates his works in Western Armenian. He is one of the leading figures in the literature of the new generation of the Armenian Diaspora and the author of two highly acclaimed prose volumes: the short story collection Superheroes Die in Summer (2016) and the novel Metallic Dreams (2018). In his works, Batikian frequently explores the themes of youth, identity, and the influence of modern Western culture, bringing a fresh breath and vitality to the Western Armenian language. In addition to his own creative writing, he has translated C.S. Lewis’s famous book The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe into Western Armenian. He currently resides in Paris, where he conducts courses in Armenian literature and creative writing at INALCO (National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations).
Քրիստիան Բատիկեան (ծնած Պոլիս, Թուրքիա) տաղանդաւոր ֆրանսահայ արձակագիր, թարգմանիչ եւ խմբագիր է, որ կը ստեղծագործէ արեւմտահայերէնով։ Ան յառաջատար դէմքերէն է սփիւռքահայ նոր սերունդի գրականութեան մէջ եւ հեղինակն է մեծ ընդունելութիւն գտած երկու արձակ հատորներու՝ «Սուփըր հերոսները կը մեռնին ամրան» (2016) պատմուածքներու ժողովածուին եւ «Մետաղէ երազներ» (2018) վէպին։ Իր գործերուն մէջ Բատիկեան յաճախ կը քննէ պատանեկութեան, ինքնութեան եւ արդի արեւմտեան մշակոյթի ազդեցութեան խնդիրները՝ նոր շունչ եւ կենսունակութիւն հաղորդելով արեւմտահայերէնին։ Բացի սեփական ստեղծագործութիւններէն, ան արեւմտահայերէնի թարգմանած է Ք․ Ս․ Լուիսի հռչակաւոր «Նարնիայի քրոնիկները․ Արիւծը, Վհուկը, եւ Հանդերձարանը» գիրքը։ Այժմ կը բնակի Փարիզ, ուր հայ գրականութեան եւ ստեղծագործական գրութեան դասընթացքներ կը վարէ INALCO (Արեւելեան լեզուներու եւ քաղաքակրթութիւններու պետական հիմնարկ) հաստատութեան մէջ
