Ara Khachig Manoogian is an Armenian-American human rights activist, investigative journalist, researcher, and author. Born in Pasadena, California, in 1964, he is widely known for his advocacy defending civil rights, fighting political corruption, and preserving historical memory related to the Armenian Genocide.
Manoogian is the maternal grandson of Shahan Natalie. Natalie was a legendary Armenian writer, revolutionary, and the principal mastermind behind Operation Nemesis—the clandestine operation that targeted and executed the Ottoman perpetrators of the Armenian Genocide.
