He was a founding director of the Gomidas Institute, and has edited and written critical introductions to several of the institute’s publications. Now director of the Taderon Press, he is developing the Sterndale Classics imprint. \

Born in Athens, Greece, Ara Baliozian received his Armenian education at the Mekhitarist College of Moorat-Raphael in Venice, Italy, where he also studied economics and political science at the University ofCa Foscari. He now lives in Ontario, Canada where he devotes his full time to writing. He has been published in both Armenian and English. The winner of many prizes and government grants for his literary work, which includes fiction, drama, literary criticism, and translations from the Armenian, French and Italian, he is the author of The Armenians: Their History and Culture, editor of Armenia Observed, and the translator of Puzant Granian's My Land, My People and Gostan Zarian's The Traveller and His Road.
