Donald Abcarian


Donald Abcarian was born and raised in Fresno, California, where his family was settled since the turn of the century. His earliest influences, including the Armenian language, derived from this milieu. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in philosophy and has pursued a lifelong interest in languages and world literature. He recently completed a new translation of Raffi’s The Fool, probably one of the most influential literary works in the Armenian language (originally published in 1881).

Donald E. Miller

Donald E. Miller is Professor of Religion and Director of the Center for Religion and Civic Culture at the University of Southern California and author of Reinventing American Protestantism: Christianity in the New Millennium (California, 1997) and The Case for Liberal Christianity (1981), among other books.

Dickran Kouymjian

Dickran Kouymjian (born 1934) is an eminent Armenian-American historian, professor emeritus, and a foundational figure in modern Armenian studies. Born in Romania to Armenian parents, he earned the first doctorate in Armenian Studies in the United States from Columbia University in 1969. In 1977, he established the renowned Armenian Studies Program at California State University, Fresno, serving as its director for three decades and founding the student newspaper Hye Sharzhoom. A prolific author of over 15 books on Armenian art, manuscripts, and history, Kouymjian is also widely celebrated for his close personal friendship with William Saroyan, serving as a primary archivist of the author’s unpublished plays.

Dicran Y. Kassouny

Dicran Y. Kassouny was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He moved to the United States in 1988. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Haigazian University, Beirut; a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from University of La Verne, California; and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from California State University, Northridge. Kassouny is an art director and illustrator. He lives in Los Angeles. 100 Years Strong is his first book.
