Hilda Tourians was born and raised in Tehran, the capital of Iran, where she attended the Koushesh Mariamian School. Due to the revolution, she moved to the Boston area of the United States at a young age. After earning a higher education in the field of computer science and reaching professional heights for decades, she retired and began her creative work. Having written the story-fairytale ‘The Luminous Butterfly’ in English, she decided to publish it first in Armenian translation as a tribute to her past and to her grandmother, Arevaluys Toroyan, serving as an eternal dedication of gratitude to the unbroken spirit of her ancestors and the unquenchable light of optimism. The work tells a story about the exceptional light that each of us carries within, though only a few manage to discover it and keep it burning.

Ara Zarian is an Italian-Armenian architect, researcher, and architectural historian specializing in the preservation and documentation of early Christian and medieval Armenian monuments. Born in Rome, Italy, he belongs to a highly prominent intellectual family, being the grandson of the renowned 20th-century writer Kostan Zarian and the son of esteemed architect Armen Zarian. After graduating from the Yerevan Polytechnic Institute in 1980, Zarian dedicated his career to the architectural restoration of over 25 religious buildings and historic sites throughout Armenia and Artsakh, including major projects at Vorotnavank, Lmbatavank, and Dadivank. Based in Mirano, Italy, he frequently collaborates with European academic institutions—such as Pázmány Péter Catholic University—and co-authors specialized publications that analyze medieval wall paintings and historical conservation methods.

Sonia Tashjian is a contemporary Armenian poet, author, and researcher born in Anjar, Lebanon, in 1968. In Beirut, she was an active participant in the «Նոր Գրականութիւն» (New Literature) cultural group before relocating to Armenia in 1990. Known for her emotionally descriptive and introspective style, she published her first volume of poetry, «Այրվող կակաչների ռիթմը» (The Rhythm of Burning Poppies), in 1994, followed by her second anthology, «Անձնագիր» (Passport), in 2004. In addition to her lyrical poetry, Tashjian is a highly respected ethnographer and culinary historian who collaborates with the Houshamadyan project to research, document, and preserve the historical cuisine, traditions, and cultural memory of Ottoman-Armenian village life.
Henry R. Shapiro is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Polonsky Academy for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences at the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute, and he also teaches courses on early modern Islamic history and the Classical Armenian language at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He specializes on the histories of non-Muslims in the early modern Islamic empires, particularly in the Ottoman Empire. Shapiro completed his PhD in History at Princeton University, his MA at Sabancı University, an MDiv at Harvard Divinity School, and his BA in Classics at Brown University. He has published articles in the Journal of Early Modern History and Iranian Studies.
