Levon Shahoian was born in 1907 in the village of Haftevan in the Salmast region of Iran. He attained his elementary education at his village’s parochial school. He continued his education at the American Missionary School in Baaquba, Iraq, where he and his family had fled in 1915.

LEVON THOMASSIAN was born in Hartford, CT. In 1994, he graduated from the UCLA with an undergraduate degree in History. He later pursued his graduate studies at CSUN writing his Master's thesis on German-Armenian relations during the Second World War. He currently resides with his family in Los Angeles, CA.
