Shivers (1906) collection is Daniel Varoujan's debut work, written during his student years in Venice, and is characterized by a deeply personal, lyrical, and symbolist spirit. In this work, the young poet opens up his inner world, singing of longing, love, loneliness, and youthful dreams, where the "shivers" express spiritual anxieties and delicate emotional upheavals.
With the The Heart of the Nation (1909) anthology, Varoujan makes a massive transition, moving from personal pain to the collective destiny and becoming the herald of the suffering and struggle of the Western Armenians. In this book, which is imbued with an epic and heroic spirit, the author portrays the pain of the Armenian peasant and the horrors of national massacres, but at the same time commands resilience, rebirth, and just rebellion—seeking and raising up the invincible spirit and heart of the Armenian nation.

«Սարսուռներ» (1906) հաւաքածոն Դանիէլ Վարուժանի երախայրիքն է, որը գրուած է Վենետիկի մէջ ուսանելու տարիներուն եւ կը բնորոշուի խոր անձնական, քնարական ու խորհրդապաշտական շունչով։ Այս գործին մէջ երիտասարդ բանաստեղծը կը բանայ իր ներաշխարհը՝ երգելով կարօտի, սիրոյ, մենութեան եւ երիտասարդական երազներու մասին, ուր «սարսուռները» կ՚արտայայտեն հոգեկան տագնապներն ու զգացական նուրբ ալեկոծումները։
«Ցեղին Սիրտը» (1909) ժողովածուով Վարուժանը կը կատարէ հսկայական անդրադարձ մը՝ անձնական ցաւէն անցնելով հաւաքական ճակատագրին եւ դառնալով արեւմտահայութեան տառապանքին ու պայքարին շեփորահարը։ Այս գրքին մէջ, որը տոգորուած է վիպերգական եւ հերոսական ոգիով, հեղինակը կը պատկերէ հայ գեղջուկին ցաւը, ազգային ջարդերու արհաւիրքը, բայց միեւնոյն ժամանակ կը պատգամէ տոկունութիւն, վերածնունդ եւ արդար ընդվզում՝ փնտռելով ու վեր հանելով հայ ցեղի անպարտելի ոգին ու սիրտը։
