Description

Survivors of the Armenian Genocide are not only those who lived through the death march in the desert, but also their children and their children's children. This paper discusses the trauma experienced by the survivors of the Genocide and its transmission to their children.

The purpose of this research is to explore the effects of trauma on survivors' children and, in doing so, to articulate the kinds of hidden effects that trauma has on individuals. This was an opportunity to understand the emotional impact on the Genocide survivors and their offspring, most of whom are now adults, and to look at how this impact created yet another generation of survivors.
