Hamastegh's Rain (Andzrev) is a masterpiece of Armenian diasporan rural literature, in which the author revives the world of his lost homeland of Kharpert and the image of his native village with profound nostalgia and lyrical warmth. Through the short stories presented in the book, he describes the industrious, pious, and nature-harmonious life of the Armenian peasant, as well as their inner emotional experiences, using simple and pure Western Armenian. Rain is not only a fragment of memories from the past, but also a deep message addressed to new generations of the Armenian diaspora to preserve their national identity, roots, and historical memory.
