Zareh Vorpuni (1902–1980) is one of the most original and avant-garde prose writers and editors of Armenian diasporan literature. Born in Ordu, he narrowly survived the atrocities of the Armenian Genocide, and in 1922 settled in Paris, where he lived and created throughout his entire life. As a co-founder of the literary journal Menk, he became a pioneer of the literary movement of the Paris generation of Armenian orphans. Vorpuni’s body of work, which includes the novel series The Persecuted (such as The Attempt and The Asphalt), is characterized by its deep psychoanalytic depth, through which he addressed the emotional and mental anxieties of the exiled Armenian and the dangers of assimilation within the European environment.
Զարեհ Որբունի (1902–1980) սփիւռքահայ գրականութեան ամենաինքնատիպ ու յառաջապահ արձակագիրներէն եւ խմբագիրներէն է: Ծնած է Օրտու, մազապուրծ եղած է Մեծ Եղեռնէն, իսկ 1922-ին հաստատուած է Փարիզ, ուր ապրած ու ստեղծագործած է իր ամբողջ կեանքը: Իբրեւ «Մենք» գրական հանդէսի համահիմնադիր, ան դարձաւ Փարիզի հայ որբերու սերունդին գրական շարժման առաջամարտիկը: Որբունիի ստեղծագործութիւնը, որուն մաս կը կազմէ «Հալածուածները» վիպաշարքը (ինչպէս՝ «Փորձը» եւ «Ասֆալտը»), յատկանշական է իր հոգեվերլուծական խորութեամբ, որով ան անդրադարձած է գաղթական հայուն հոգեկան տագնապներուն ու եւրոպական միջավայրին մէջ ձուլման վտանգներուն:
