Krikor Pidedjian (1935–2019) was a renowned Armenian diasporan musicologist, conductor, and educator who dedicated his life to the preservation of Armenian spiritual and folk music. Born in Egypt, he studied in Lebanon, and later settled in New York, where he received his higher musical education. For many years, he served as the choir director of the Saints Vartanantz Cathedral in New York. As a scholar, Pidedjian published valuable studies, among which the books The Music of the Armenian Church and The Sharakan “Andzink Nvirealk” are particularly notable.
Գրիգոր Փիտէճեան (1935–2019) սփիւռքահայ անուանի երաժշտագէտ, խմբավար եւ մանկավարժ է, որ իր կեանքը նուիրած է հայ հոգեւոր ու ժողովրդական երաժշտութեան պահպանման: Ծնած է Եգիպտոս, ուսանած է Լիբանանի մէջ, իսկ աւելի ուշ հաստատուած է Նիւ Եորք, ուր ստացած է իր բարձրագոյն երաժշտական կրթութիւնը: Ան երկար տարիներ վարած է Նիւ Եորքի Սրբոց Վարդանանց Մայր Տաճարի երգչախումբի խմբավարութիւնը: Իբրեւ գիտնական, Փիտէճեան հրատարակած է արժէքաւոր ուսումնասիրութիւններ, որոնցմէ յատկանշական են «Հայ եկեղեցւոյ երաժշտութիւնը» եւ «Անձինք նուիրեալք շարականը» գիրքերը:
