Dr. Haroutune Armenian (1942–2025) was a renowned Lebanese-Armenian physician, epidemiologist, former president of the American University of Armenia, and a dedicated watercolor artist. Born in Beirut, he earned his doctorate from Johns Hopkins University and became a global pioneer in studying the health effects of wars and earthquakes using epidemiological methods. He began painting in 1976 to find respite from the Lebanese Civil War, capturing the American University of Beirut’s gardens and Mediterranean views in a self-taught practice that spanned decades. Alongside major academic achievements—including lecturing at UCLA and advancing the digitization of classical Armenian literature—he traveled to over 40 countries, creating a vast collection of landscapes, seascapes, and abstract works.
Դոկտ․ Յարութիւն Արմէնեանը (1942–2025) լիբանանահայ ճանաչուած բժիշկ, համաճարակաբան է, Հայաստանի Ամերիկեան Համալսարանի նախկին նախագահը եւ ջրաներկի արուեստագէտ։ Պէյրութ ծնած այս գիտնականը դոկտորականը ստացած է Ճոնս Հոփքինս համալսարանէն՝ դառնալով համաշխարհային պիոներ պատերազմներու եւ երկրաշարժերու առողջապահական ազդեցութիւններու ուսումնասիրութեան մէջ։ Ան սկսաւ նկարել 1976-ին՝ Լիբանանի քաղաքացիական պատերազմէն հոգեկան անդորր փնտռելու համար, պատկերելով Պէյրութի Ամերիկեան Համալսարանի պարտէզներն ու Միջերկրականի տեսարանները։ Գիտական մեծ նուաճումներու եւ UCLA-ի մէջ դասախօսելու կողքին, ան ճամբորդեց աւելի քան 40 երկիրներ՝ ստեղծելով բնանկարներու, ծովանկարներու եւ վերացական գործերու հարուստ հաւաքածոյ մը։
