Father Giuregh Kibarian (1891–1979) was an eminent West Armenian educator, translator, editor, and armeniologist belonging to the Mkhitarian Congregation in Venice. Born in Bandırma, Ottoman Empire, he arrived at San Lazzaro degli Armeni in 1903 and later pursued theological studies in Rome. Throughout his devoted monastic life, Kibarian served as a crucial institutional pillar, undertaking roles as principal, spiritual counselor, and the editor-in-chief of the historic armeniological journal Bazmavep between 1927 and 1929. Though he was a prolific writer of scholarly articles and translations, his absolute crowning achievement remains his comprehensive textbook, History of Ancient Armenian Literature, which remains a highly revered, authoritative reference work mapping the development of the early Armenian written word.
Հ. Կիւրեղ Վրդ. Քիպարեան (1891–1979) Վենետիկի Մխիթարեան Միաբանութեան պատկանող արեւմտահայ նշանաւոր կրթական գործիչ, թարգմանիչ, խմբագիր եւ արմենոլոգ (հայագէտ) մըն է: Ծնած Օսմանեան Կայսրութեան Պանտըրմա քաղաքը, ան 1903-ին կը ժամանէ Սուրբ Ղազար կղզի եւ ապա աստուածաբանական ուսումը կը շարունակէ Հռոմի մէջ: Իր նուիրեալ վանական կեանքի ընթացքին, Հ. Քիպարեան ծառայած է իբրեւ հաստատութեան կարեւոր սիւն՝ ստանձնելով տնօրէնի ու հոգեւոր խորհրդատուի պաշտօններ, ինչպէս նաեւ 1927-էն 1929 տարիներուն վարած է «Բազմավէպ» հայագիտական պատմական հանդէսի գլխաւոր խմբագրութիւնը: Թէեւ ան հեղինակած է բազմաթիւ գիտական յօդուածներ ու թարգմանութիւններ, անոր մեծագոյն նուաճումը կը մնայ «Պատմութիւն հայ հին գրականութեան» իր համապարփակ դասագիրքը, որ մինչեւ օրս կը նկատուի վաղ շրջանի հայ գրուած խօսքի զարգացումը արձանագրող հեղինակաւոր ու յարգի աղբիւր մը:
