Aram Kerovpyan

ARAM KEROVPYAN was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He learned to play the kanoun and studied the Near Eastern music system with Master musician Saadeddin Öktenay. Moving to Paris, he joined the Kotchnak ensemble, performing Armenian folk and troubadour music, and in 1985 established the Akn ensemble specializing in Armenian liturgical chant. He has been the master-singer of the Armenian cathedral in Paris since 1990. He is active in the world of theater as musician, teacher, and composer. He holds a Ph.D. in musicology and publishes about modal theory and the history of Armenian liturgical music.

ԱՐԱՄ ՔԵՐՈՎԲԵԱՆ ծնած է Կ. Պոլիս եւ 1977-ին փոխադրուած՝ Փարիզ։ Հիմնադիր անդամներէն է Կոչնակ խումբին, նաեւ հիմնադիրն ու ղեկավարը՝ Փարիզի Հայկական ձայնային ուսմանց կեդրոնին եւ Ակն երգչախումբին։ 1990-էն ի վեր Փարիզի մայր եկեղեցւոյ երաժշտապետութեան պաշտօնը կը վարէ։ Աւարտած է երաժշտագիտական տոքթորական մը եւ հրատարակած՝ բազմաթիւ գիրքեր եւ յօդուածներ, նիւթ ունենալով հայկական ձայնային երաժշտութիւնը, եկեղեցական երգեցողութեան պատմութիւնը եւ փոխանցման համակարգը։ Վիրճինիա Քերովբեանին հետ միասին կը վարէ երգեցողութեան աշխատանոցներ, բեմ կ՚ելլէ որպէս համերգի եւ թատրոնի երաժիշտ։

Ara Dinkjian

Ara Dinkjian is a highly acclaimed Armenian-American musician, composer, and master oud player widely considered one of the finest virtuosos of the instrument in the world. Born in New Jersey in 1958, he began his musical journey accompanying his father, the legendary Armenian folk and liturgical singer Onnik Dinkjian. In 1980, he graduated from the Hartt College of Music with the first and only specialized degree in oud performance in the United States. Dinkjian is renowned as the founder of the pioneering world fusion instrumental group Night Ark, and his compositions have achieved global appeal, being recorded in over thirteen different languages. His multi-platinum hit song “Homecoming” (Dinata Dinata) famously served as part of the soundtrack for the closing ceremonies of the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
