Azat Yeghiazaryan (born April 6, 1943, Hatsarat, now Gavar) is a prominent Armenian literary scholar, critic, translator, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and professor. He graduated from the Faculty of Philology at Yerevan State University and completed his postgraduate studies at the M. Gorky Institute of World Literature in Moscow. For decades, he carried out highly productive scientific activities at the Manuk Abeghyan Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, where he also served as director, and later headed the Institute of Humanities at the Armenian-Russian University. Yeghiazaryan is the author of numerous valuable monographs and scholarly articles dedicated to the theory of Armenian classical and contemporary poetry, the creative world of Hovhannes Tumanyan, the epic “David of Sasun,” and the pivotal issues of 20th-century Armenian literature.

Ազատ Եղիազարյանը (ծնվ. 1943 թ. ապրիլի 6, Հացառատ, այժմ՝ Գավառ), անվանի հայ գրականագետ, քննադատ, թարգմանիչ և բանասիրական գիտությունների դոկտոր, պրոֆեսոր է։ Նա ավարտել է Երևանի պետական համալսարանի բանասիրական ֆակուլտետը, ապա ուսումը շարունակել Մոսկվայի Մ. Գորկու անվան գրականության ինստիտուտի ասպիրանտուրայում։ Տասնամյակներ շարունակ արդյունավետ գիտական գործունեություն է ծավալել ՀՀ ԳԱԱ Մանուկ Աբեղյանի անվան գրականության ինստիտուտում՝ զբաղեցնելով նաև տնօրենի պաշտոնը, իսկ ավելի ուշ ղեկավարել է Հայ-ռուսական համալսարանի Հումանիտար գիտությունների ինստիտուտը։ Եղիազարյանը հեղինակ է բազմաթիվ արժեքավոր մենագրությունների և գիտական հոդվածների, որոնք նվիրված են հայ դասական ու ժամանակակից պոեզիայի տեսությանը, Թումանյանի ստեղծագործական աշխարհին, «Սասունցի Դավիթ» էպոսին և 20-րդ դարի հայ գրականության առանցքային խնդիրներին։
