Hilmar Kaiser

Hilmar Kaiser is a historian specializing in German-Ottoman relations and the Armenian Genocide. He has done extensive archival research in Europe, the Middle East, and the United States. In 1996 he was banned from the Ottoman State Archives (Istanbul, Turkey) because of his scholarly interest in Armenian history. Currently he is working at Ruhr University (Bochum, Germany) and is a doctoral candidate at the European University Institute (Florence, Italy).

Haroutune E. Kahvedjian

HAROUT KAHVEDJIAN, the eldest son of Elia Kahvedjian, was born in Jerusalem. After attending Armenian school in the Armenian Convent, he continued his studies at Frere's College in the Old City of Jerusalem. From the late '50s to early 1967 he worked with his father at his father's photo studio. In 1967 he emigrated to Toronto where he worked at the University of Toronto's Robarts Library. He and his wife Alice have two adult sons--Shant and Hratch.
