Description

The Golgotha of Armenia Minor was originally written in French by Jean V. Gureghian. It is composed of three elements: a translation of Aram Gureghian's memoirs (the author's father), written at the age of sixteen, as a survivor of the Armenian Genocide; the Gureghian family's subsequent fate in exile in France and Soviet Armenia; and an account of the Armenian Genocide in Sivas - the ancestral homeland of the Gureghian family. The Golgotha of Armenia Minor is one of very few English language accounts of the Armenian Genocide in Sivas, the province that had the largest Armenian population in the Ottoman Empire. This highly readable work was originally published in French (1999), then in Turkish (2004), and now appears in English for the first time.
