This study is the first monograph devoted to the life and work of Dikran Tchouhadjian, one of the four great Armenian composers. On the basis of research made in the Armenian periodical press at the end of the 19th century and the 20th century, post-war Armenian dramaturgical and musicological studies, partly literature published in foreign languages, but mainly the composer's archive in Yerevan, the author presents the highlights of the life and work of this greatly talented artist.
