Lousig Somounjian-Afarian is a well-known Lebanese-Armenian public figure, children’s author, and member of the Real Estate Council of the Armenian Diocese of Lebanon. She has made significant contributions to preserving Western Armenian in the Diaspora and nurturing Armenian identity in younger generations, particularly through her illustrated children’s books. Among her popular works are “The Lost Frog,” “Clever Chalo,” and Western Armenian retellings of famous fables. Through her literary and national activities, she remains one of the active figures of the Lebanese-Armenian community.
Լուսիկ Սոմունճեան-Աֆարեանը լիբանանահայ ծանօթ հասարակական գործիչ, մանկագիր եւ Լիբանանի Հայոց Թեմի Կալուածոց Խորհուրդի անդամ է: Ան մեծ ներդրում ունի սփիւռքի մէջ արեւմտահայերէնի պահպանման ու սերունդներու հայեցի դաստիարակութեան գործին մէջ, յատկապէս իր հեղինակած մանկական պատկերազարդ գիրքերով: Անոր յայտնի գործերէն են «Կորսուած Գորտը», «Ճարպիկ Չալոն» եւ հանրայայտ առակներու արեւմտահայերէն վերապատմումները: Իր գրական ու ազգային գործունէութեամբ, ան կը շարունակէ մնալ լիբանանահայ գաղութի աշխոյժ դէմքերէն մէկը:
