James R. Russell

James R. Russell is Mashtots Professor of Armenian Studies at Harvard University, Emeritus. He now lives in Fresno, California and teaches Jewish Studies and Hebrew part-time at California State University, Fresno. His books include Zoroastrianism in Armenia (1987), The Heroes of Kasht: An Armenian Epic (2000), and Bosphorus Nights: The Complete Lyric Poems of Bedros Tourian (2005). He is the author of several hundred scholarly articles and monographs. A second volume of these, Poets, Heroes, and Their Dragons, is in press in the Iranian Series of the University of California at Irvine.
